LeKMA MCE CUT SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A DRAINAGE SYSTEM


The Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku Municpal Assembly earlier yesterday visited the Ashiety Akomfra electoral area, Jah labour to be specific to cut sod for the construction of a 117 metre length drainage system for the people of that electoral area. Ashiety Akomfra Assemblywomam, Honourable Veronica Lamptey lobbied for this project to come to her area to relief her people.
The project is expected to help address the poor drainage system and curb the annual  ritual of flooding when it rains. With the onset of the rains, the project will also halt the situation where the slightest of rains, floods homes of residents and destroys their property.
The contractor working on the project has been charged to, in the spirit of local content, factor and create employment for residents in the catchment area of the project to help reduce the unemployment level.
As part of participatory development, the MCE and the Assemblywoman have decided to meet the residents of the area with the contractor and engineer to explain to them how the project will be done and also seek their input to make sure it becomes mutually beneficial for all of them.
The effort of the Assemblywoman, Honourable Veronica Lamptey also needs to be commended, she really fought well for this important project to come to her area. A strong woman working hard for the people in her area.
At the ground breaking event, the MCE with the Assemblywomen interacted with residents of the area and listened attentively to their plights. The MCE thus assured them of the commitment of the assembly to address their concerns in no time.
The MCE also said despite the challenges confronting the assembly, they have no excuse to fold their hands and sit idle and promised that she will do all in her power to solve the problems confronting the people of Ledzokuku one after the other.
According to her, the development of the people will certainly not come in a day but with determination and the involvement of the people, Ledzokuku will see a monumental development.
The Honourable Veronica Lamptey also thanked the people in her area and assured then her readiness and zeal to always fight for their interest. She also assured them that she will make sure this is not the final  project to come but lot more.

The people on their path also thanked her for being a listening mother who listens to their cry and prayed for God's blessings for her.
